Changeling

Changeling Film Review

I had the pleasure to see this film when it was in cinemas earlier on this year, but i was so confused as to why i was one of the only two people in the cinema?
Yet, when i went to see The Proposal last night, it was almost packed.
Not only have i nearly given up on Australia's music taste, but i have almost given up on our movie taste.
It indeed worries me that we will be consumed with Proposals and Bride Wars, as shiteous flms as they are, they are still selling tickets, were Oscar nominated gems such as Changeling slip by almost unnoticed
Well, thats my rant for the evening, now onto the actual review.

Like i said, i saw this movie in the cinema, but had nowhere to express my love for this film as i didn't have a blog at the time, but now that i do, and it's recently been released onto DVD, i now have that opportunity.
I don't remember the last time a film has had a huge impact on me lie this one has had. I honestly can say, i felt sick to my stomach after seeing this film. It didn't just sicken me because it was infact a true story, but the way Clint Eastwood has shot this masterpiece, is way beyond his years, and is much better then the more hyped Gran Torino not that that was a bad movie, it was infact also brilliant. But nothing can top this emotionaly driven film, it could possibly be his best film to date, as a director anyway.
The bummer is i cannot say too much about this movie as it will give too much away, as there are many twists and turns that need to be experienced on an oblivious leval.
But i can say that the performances are nothing short of spectacular, Angelina Jolie performs a hauntingly, fragile Character as Christine Collins, a woman who's son dissapears after she arrives home from work. And the currupt police do a great job of making me hate them, as i did, soooooooo much.
This gut-wrenching story grabs you from the get-go and dosn't let go of you until the heartbreaking finale.
Go rent this movie out right this minute, you will not be dissapointed.
Yes the subject matter is borderline depressing, but i will top fluffy peices of crap such as Bride Wars, anyday.
